stitchy goodness

I joined a new cross stitch exchange blog called Hooked on Exchanging. They were doing a pinkeep exchange and since that is my favorite type of finishing (I don't know that many, admittedly), I decided to join.

I received this yesterday from a blogger named Marion. It came from the Netherlands, which is the farthest away I've received any exchange so far. Very exciting. Isn't it pretty?

Marion also sent some extra goodies, like different kinds of floss and a piece of shiny, iridescent fabric (my camera can't capture how shiny it is.) Thank you, Marion!

So pretty! I need to get back to embroidery, I miss it. I've been considering trying cross stitch recently. I have a ton of floss I never use (meant for several projects I either never started or never finished >_<), and a %50 off coupon for AC Moore, which I could use for one of the lovely patterns they sell...

Let me throw some temptation your way then. There's a designer I've across that I think you might like. She has a series of cross stitch angel ornaments in very pretty medieval (http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-bin/itemdetail.pl?item=05-2983), Regency (http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-bin/itemdetail.pl?item=05-2984), and Rococo (http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-bin/itemdetail.pl?item=07-1735)gowns among others. Plus, there is her 18th century French inspired sampler (http://www.brookesbookspublishing.com/Samplers.html). I am definitely going to do this or at least the portrait part at some point. I can send you the pdf file of it, if you'd like a copy ;)
