Dec. 5th, 2007 03:35 amLast night went to the movies with Sarah to see No Country for Old Men. WTF, Coen Brothers? WTF? Other than my annoyance with the ending (I got it, I just didn't like what I got), it was an excellent thriller. I do believe it made me squirm even more than Blood Simple did.
Sarah didn't believe me when I told her that Josh Brolin had been in Goonies and then got even more indignant when I admitted I had never seen Goonies. I think back in the '80's I saw a Cyndi Lauper video that rehashed most of the plot and that was about all that I cared to see of it.
There was a huge line at the theater for The Golden Compass. I didn't realize that they were doing a sneak preview of it. Damn! Apparently people had been lining up for it since 3pm and it was at least 6 when I got there and they still had about another hour to go to. I'm sorry I missed it, but not sorry that I didn't have to stand in some crazy fool line. As much as I love the books, I don't think I'd queue up for that long. Although as we were leaving our movie, I did have a strong temptation to run into their theater and shout, "WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?" and run out.
Speaking of The Golden Compass, has anyone heard if there's any restaurant chain that's doing a tie-in? Because I seriously want some Heretic Happy Meal toys.
