Feb. 26th, 2008 04:21 amOof. Sunday was just a horrible day. Non-stop business, back-to-back calls with nary a pause in between to catch one's breath. It was teh suck. Then I went home, busted out the cheap red wine and watched the Oscars that I had taped and that made me feel a bit better. The Oscars were a bit dull this year, in that there wasn't anything that I wasn't really rooting for and the dresses were kind of boring. There were some cute moments though: I was happy that Marion Cotillard won for La Vie En Rose; how happy Cate Blanchett was for the other winners; that Jon Stewart let that girl from Once do her acceptance speech which was very sweet and eloquent; and also that Javier Bardem, when he doesn't have the scary hairbob, is smoking hot.
Today, I stopped by the International Pantry in Norman and bought some amaretto cookies and Honeydew Melon white tea. And then as I was driving to the bookstore, I decided to take a different route and came across a cul-de-sac of Victorian houses. Completely, stylistically out of nowhere. I wish I had my camera with me because it was like someone had just plopped a bunch of dollhouses next to an elementary school.
Tomorrow I am going to try to make it out to the art museum so I can see the Paris 1900 exhibit. This is one of my favorite time periods and I love Art Nouveau, but sadly, I've been putting it off since it would require my getting up at the buttcrack of noon. This is the last week it's in town though so it's now or never. Although by the sound of it now, the wind might blow me away if I attempt to leave the house. We'll see.
