Jan. 7th, 2011 02:23 amHi Livejournal, I'm still lurking around the internets, although I am horribly unmotivated in everything to make a post. Getting out of bed has lately been my most successful part of the day. Really, not much has happened. I made it through the holidays though I had to work on both Christmas and NYE, so I didn't get to do too much. (Belated thank yous to
caoil and
oxymoron67 for the Christmas cards.) I wish I had had the wherewithal to do cards myself, but I didn't even manage that. I managed to mail one card to one aunt before procrastination and a lack of stamps totally undid me.
I hope everyone's having a good year so far.
Things I would like for this year:
Be happier.
Be kinder.
Eat slightly more healthier.
Avoid any serious thought about work, especially when I'm not there.
Travel more.
Take a class in either sewing or music lessons (I say this every year.)
Finish Japanese Garden by at least sometime this summer.
And oh yes, post more on LJ.
What I am up to so far this year:
Watched the first two series of Misfits and was entertained although the Nathan character is so annoying, it kind of put me off for awhile.
Started reading The Founding by Cynthia Harrod Eagles. It looked like an interesting start of what I thought was a trilogy and then when I brought it home, discovered that it is actually the first of about a jillion books. Like Mercedes Lackey is somewhere going, "Damn girl, this series is long."
I watched Red Riding: 1974 on instant Netflix last night and it was pretty good and creepy. I was confused though because I thought it was about the Yorkshire Ripper case, although at least the first installment is about some other fictional case. If you liked Zodiac (which I did), this is pretty much in the same vein. And then, because I always forget how stupid it is to watch true crime/horror films before going to bed, I chased it with several episodes of Parks and Recreation. I think I will watch more again tonight.
