After work today I went to see X Men 3 with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
mythicalgryphon after, which I had some completely random observations...
I never read the comics, but the movie had a lot of WTF moments, even for a casual fan and probably more so if you had knowledge of the source material. Still it was lots of fun, I had a good time and I enjoyed it.
I was annoyed that Cyclops got killed, exploded, whatever. He was hardly in the second one and here, his prettiness is again wasted. Also, I preferred Jean Grey paired with Cyclops, rather than Wolverine, although ...
Hugh Jackman looks really good in a) a wifebeater and b) a leather suit so it's understandable, but mainly because...
Wolverwine has better chemistry with Storm (or for that matter, Rogue.) I thought Halle Berry looked pissed because Wolverine kept chasing after Jean when she was clearly ready to jump him.
Watching Patrick Stewart slowly explode like a peeled grape was really gross. Watching other, minor characters quickly explode was not much better.
Cameron Bright, the creepy kid from Birth, was the creepy mutant kid whose power involves sapping the powers of other mutants. He seems to be creepy in whatever movie he does. I bet all the other mutant kids avoid him on the playground.
Evil mutant kids dig Hot Topic.
X Men is still the gayest superhero story I've ever seen. I'm still convinced it's one extended gay metaphor. That's a given, right?
If you do go see the movie, be sure to stay after the closing credits. Bonus scene!
