materialism for the win
I bought a pair of Converse off of Zappos. This is the first time I've ordered from that website, but they seem to be popular, so we'll see how that goes. I prefer the One Star shoes to Chucks (and sadly, they are harder to find), but I'm kinda tempted by these pink stripey Chucks though.
Also coming in the mail...

Paris Interiors
I would like my Parisian apartment now, kthxplz.
And then I will lie abed all day, smoking Gauloises, eating macarons and watching BBC dvds.

Anyways, back in the real world, I bought a copy of 3:10 to Yuma for two whole dollars today. Aww, yeah.
I also bought a paperback of The Thin Man by Dashiell Hammett. I was in the mood for some snappy dialogue. Why haven't I watched the movie yet? I don't know. *reorganizes Netflix queue*

I stopped by my LNS too, like I need any more patterns.

I also purchased some aqua colored linen to stitch this on. Once upon a time, I thought it would be really cool to work in a bakery. Then it occured to me that it would probably be really hard work involving early mornings and I would also eat everything in sight.
There's also this, which I haven't bought yet, but I would really like to. It's a stitcher's case called "A la Reine".

It's by a French designer called CMon Monde. It looks like Violarium (cool website!) is selling the pattern with translated finishing instructions. Ooooh, too tempting. Never done any ribbon embroidery before though, that might be hard.

You should definitely get that stitcher's case pattern! It's beautiful. I wouldn't worry about the ribbon embroidery-- I have a wonderful book, Silk Ribbon Embroidery Bible by Joan Gordon, with very detailed instructions. It actually looks fairly simple!

I've seen that embroidery book you've mentioned, that's another one on my to-get list. It looks so pretty!

Ribbon embroidery is so fun I use to do roses all over stuff.
Heh! You make me want to do needlepoint again~ ;o; but I was never really that good at it.

Everybody is telling me how easy ribbon embroidery is; I will have to get some books and try it.
