So I decided to do some light reading before I went to sleep and finish up Nick and Norah's Inifinite Playlist. About seven or eight pages from the ending, Norah says this,

" 'I hate the Beatles,' I state. 'Except for that song 'Something.' Now that's a fucking love song. And John and Paul didn't even write it. George did. George was the shit. But the Beatles as a whole? Completely overrated.'

Nick drops my hand. He looks at me as if I've just either had a mental breakdown, or he's about to have one. 'I'm gonna pretend I never heard that.'

Musician boys and their Beatles love--what are you gonna do?"

For about three minutes, I was D: trying to decide if I even wanted to bother wasting my time spending another eight pages with this twat. Or throwing it against the opposite wall. I willed myself to finish it over my better judgement, but it was a bitter victory. Die in a fire, Norah, you pretentious punk wannabe. This book actually made me miss old school, glue-sniffing punks, it was that pretentious.

And now I'm all irritated and can't sleep :( See, this is what happens when I venture away from historical novels and into the 21st century.

Well, I'm glad she liked George - it's nice to see George get some love. But wow. I'd probably want to throw it across the room too. I wonder how the movie will compare with the book!

The bit about George is the only redeeming part. The movie trailer looks better than the book, I think; it looks like they emphasized the comedy over the emo.

I have a sad lack of Beatles icons, that needs to be rectified.

She's such an emo twat that I wish she were real so I could find her and smack the shit out of her.
