I seem to be having a suspiciously easy week. I went to the dentist utterly paranoid that he was going to tell me that I would need a root canal, all my teeth are rotten, and that I have an incurable gum disease. And it turned out that all I had was one cavity (after nearly ten years of avoiding him for said paranoia) and I have to go back next Monday for my filling. I was so relieved.
On Tuesday, my friend Nicole came into town so we hung out at Sarah's house and had a girls' night. We went to Falcone's, where I saw the lead singer of the Flaming Lips ordering pizza. Then we ate cheesecake chimichangas (ZOMG) from Taco Bueno and got drunk while watching American Idol and dancing kitty cats on YouTube. Or as drunk as possible as it was for Nicole and me to get with creme brulee dessert liquor while Sarah ridiculed us for drinking a measly 12% alchohol. Ah, good times.
I could only get part of Wednesday on vacation time so I didn't go into work till 7:45pm and then I found out that the computers had been hit with a virus all day so there was nothing to do but tell the occassional caller that our computers were down and to call back later. No, I don't really know when they'll be fixed. I sat around and cross stitched for the remaining 3 1/2 hours. And! Mark had left a plate of cake on my desk! Cake! White Chocolate Raspberry Ooey Gooey Cake! I couldn't believe my luck.
I totally expected today to be slammed with calls when I went in today, but the computers were still down and people were just sitting around tvs that the supes had dragged out from the training rooms. We've never had a computer problem last this long. All I did today was watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Day After Tomorrow and the first half of The Illusionist. And cross stitch. They're not even sure if the computers will be debugged by tomorrow either.
I'm sure all of these slow days are going to be made up with a vengeance when we're finally able to take calls again, which I'm so not looking forward to. I've been lucky so far this week, so I'm kind of waiting for the anvil to drop.
