Apr. 5th, 2007 05:27 amI meant to post a meaningful update about how life's going and all that, but I got distracted by something shiny.

This is from a ginormous evangelical church in OKC that's been running tv ads for their Easter pageant thingy. You can see the whole video here. It's really quite short and is sort of like Chick Tract: the Musical!. When I first saw it, I did a double take. "Wait, is that Jesus. . . dressed like Diana Ross?"And indeed, He was.
It boggles my mind that a fire and brimstone church like this most likely condemns people for being gay and yet their idea of Jesus is so flamboyant, he's only a can of Aqua-net away from being a total drag queen.
Whenever that commercial comes on now, the title song from Dreamgirls pops into the my head. I'm almost tempted to go see this (with an mp3 player full of showtunes), but I'm not quite that crazy and I don't think I could talk any of my friends into going. At least it gave me the opportunity for a shiny new icon though.
