So an update of sorts...

I can hardly believe that I've not worked for a week now. My last day was on March 31. There were only a few of us left that day to close down the department, so it went very quietly. No problem callers to tempt a telling off either. Some people got together afterwards at Buffalo Wild Wings and that was kind of fun, but I've never really enjoyed hanging around bars, so I left after a short while and shook the dust of that call center off my feet.

Oddly, I think the main reason I stayed with that job so long was the fact that I knew it was going to be over anyway. I know I bitched about it a lot and it was very depressing last summer when there was still a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the place. Now I'm almost sorry it's gone.

In the meantime, I have done nothing. I haven't started looking for a job yet. I don't hate working as much as I hate applying for jobs. I hate the whole application and interview process. It sucks. >_< I was fine up until Thursday and then the realization hit me and kept me up all night with worry. Worry is my natural state anyway and I suppose I was lucky that I at least had 5 days free from it. I had to break out some of the voodoo bpals to try and relax and get some sleep.

Fortunately the next day, I got to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] mythicalgryphon at Cafe Bella for boba tea, dessert, and stitching. We showed off our various works-in-progress, gossiped, and had a wonderful time. I had a honey dew milk tea with boba and strawberry cheesecake, and then we split a pot of jasmine tea, mmmm. I added a flower to my peacock sampler. Mistakes were made, nothing was frogged. ^_^

Maybe if I drink more caffeine, I'll get more stuff done. So far my week has mostly been:
sleep
internets
playing Mahjongg
watching variations of Law & Order

In my defense, it's too cold to do anything that involves leaving the house. Also, Law & Order is strangely hypnotic and hard to turn away from.
