Yay, I have today off from work! It was forecasted to be slow, so they let me off the hook. This means I can faff about playing with my dolls and watching Lost tonight.

Tried taking photos this afternoon, but couldn't get one in focus to save my life ;_;

I bought a Chloe doll head from Alice in Labyrinth on the 24th and it came today. (I love you, EMS.) I was going to wait till I had seen some owner pics and for my tax refund, but I had shitty calls this weekend that put me in a bad mood, so I was like, "Fuck it, I need some new resin." So much for my steely self-control. I'm surprised and disappointed that I haven't seen any Chloes on DoA yet, unless I am just missing them entirely. They remind me a lot of Pre-Raphaelite models and the Koitsukihime dolls. After seeing [livejournal.com profile] sdink's Alice from AiL, I would like to get that too. And Bertram. Okay, resin is made of crack.

I'm going to go out for burritos now and then more faffing later.

The Red Duchess

So I took dozens of photos today, four of which I managed to get kind of in focus ;)

Anyway, awhile back I was reading Caroline Weber's Queen of Fashion and thinking, "A redingcote would look really cool on a doll." Then naught but three days later, [livejournal.com profile] nealeinvan posts pictures of a lovely green redingote that he commissioned from Vitta-Vera. Always a step ahead. . . ^_^ I also learned about [livejournal.com profile] topsyturvies's etsy shop for doll hats from [livejournal.com profile] nealeinvan. Too much dolly tempation. I emailed [livejournal.com profile] tsuminaki to commission a redingcote in my favorite color and [livejournal.com profile] topsyturvies for a Gainsborough hat to match. They both did such a wonderful job; the hat and coat are so much prettier in real life than I can capture here. Thank you, guys! And thanks, Neale for the dolly inspiration :D
