valentine exchange
Feb. 10th, 2009 03:41 amWell, it looks like my cross stitch arrived safely to Gaby in Germany, so I can go ahead and post a picture of it.

I stitched a Sweetheart Tree pattern and then made it into a little pillow (like really little, it's maybe about three inches or so). My exchange partner seems to like it, so I'm happy about that. This was my first cross stitch of the year.
My Silkweaver order arrived this week as well.

From left to right: Antique Gold, Silver Mist, and Dazzle.
I really love Silkweaver's linens. Antique Gold is especially pretty. It has very subtle color variations that make it look like marble. (Taj is worked on Porcelein silkweaver, which looks like pink marble. Or it did. You can't really tell now that it's covered with Taj.) I am planning on using Antique Gold for Just Nan's Bliss sampler. Although I have no idea when I'm going to start that one. Just Nan is my favorite cross stitch designer, but I am sort of feeling the need to try different things. I will definitely do Bliss (definitely, maybe), but I'm not sure when I'll start it.
Silver Mist will be used for The Drawn Thread's Morning Glory sampler. This one is going to be started as soon as I get the threads for it. I love the Art Nouveau look to it. It's actually pretty small, 3 x 9 1/4", so it's really not too huge a project.
And I bought Dazzle just because it was a pretty color green and I wanted to see what it looked like in real life.
Okay, I really need to chill out on the project planning. I haven't even mentioned the Chatelaine workshop that I just started too. Lately, I've just been like "And this!...And this!...And this one too!" Must concentrate!
