Mar. 10th, 2010 02:23 amThese are the cross stitch pieces that I got back last week. I took them to Nancy, a framer recommended by the LNS. I think she did a pretty good job.
This is a Blackbird Designs pattern called "Summer Basket". Stitched on 32 ct Baby Lotion Belfast linen.

I think that Blackbird Designs is becoming one of my favorite designers. I bought their Honeysuckle Manor book that just came out (it has so many cute patterns) and have started another one of their samplers.
Just Nan's "Bliss" pattern, stitched on 32 ct Antique Gold Silkweaver linen.

The text in the middle says, "May the work of your hands, be the wish of your heart". The letters are stitched 1 over 1 thread, a total pain :P
It will be a sad day when I inevitably run out of wall space.
Am kind of in a meh mood lately. I'm not sure if it's because of the seasons changing or if it's work being more tiresome than usual. Prolly a bit of both.
I finished reading The Lady in the Tower by Alison Weir and Horns by Joe Hill. Both were really good. I liked that Weir's book had an appendix on ghost related legends about Anne Boleyn. Very interesting! Horns was a good creepy story. I don't read too much horror because I'm fairly squeamish, but this one was a very good pageturner and I finished it in a couple of days. I need to get a copy of Hill's book of short stories.
Will probably start reading Blackout by Connie Willis next.
