I spotted this at the 23rd St. Antique Mall this afternoon. I had this exact same record when I was little! Or still have somewhere, although it's probably nowhere near as in as good a shape. I was hell on all my records and scratched the shit out of them; I'd be surprised if any of them could play without skipping. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that there should not be any

Date: 2011-05-08 01:58 am (UTC)I wanted to ask you if you want any "collectible" records? I need to reduce since I want to move and if you are interested I will make a list. I know there are a couple Beatles albums, a couple new wave ones...not sure what all. Free if you want them, just the shipping. If you are interested, let me know. I'd rather they go to someone who appreciates them.

Date: 2011-05-08 06:03 am (UTC)I moved here about a year and a half ago. As much as I like the area it's too expensive. I could go on about why I want to move. So many reasons. Including all the problems with this apartment. I think going to Japan made me understand there are better places to live for less. Plus a lot more.
California is not a great place to live unless you have money or a well paying job. Even with money it's too crowded, too much crime and too many rude people. I don't think it's going to get any better either. I'd hate to be here if anything bad like what happened in Japan happens. Because people here are so not helpful to others.
So I'm working on moving, maybe up north. Definitely think it's the right thing to do.

Date: 2011-05-08 06:51 am (UTC)I hope wherever you chose to go turns out to be a nice place. California is lovely and I like it immensely, but I know it can be a hard place to live in, due to the expense and reasons you mentioned. I don't think I could live there myself either (though I sometimes wish I could.) I hope up north will be better for you. Are you speaking of northern California, or Oregon or Washington?

Date: 2011-05-08 07:49 am (UTC)California is great for people who have lots of money. For everyone else it's just getting more and more difficult. Even Northern California is becoming more expensive. Since I've lived here all my life I guess I should know. So it's going to be a big change but I know it will be for the better.
