'Soon' is a subjective term

Here's a picture of the largest thing I've finished to date. I've decided to call her Hanako (that's what the kanji says at the lower left)

I suppose the next time I complain about my job, I should look at this and think, "Well, at least I have a job where I can make a big-ass cross stitch project while I'm supposed to be working." Rather puts it in perspective. Now if I can only bring myself to finish the other kimono cross-stitches I've started. Gah!

Not much else going on. Web blocks still up at work, hence the frantic cross-stitching in order to stave off internet withdrawal symptoms. I found the H2G2 plushies at Suncoast, so now I have a stuffed Zaphod and Marvin. Think I will take some photos of my toy collection, um, 'soon'. ('Soon' being whenever I can bring myself to get up early enough so there's sufficient sunlight to take decent pictures.)

That is superb! Can you speak Japanese? Does the name you chose have a special meaning to you?

I found your journal through the cross-stitch community, just in case you're wondering. I took a look at your photo album and love, love, LOVE the snowman sampler. Do you have the information for that kit???

Hi Brenna, nice to meet you! thank you for the compliments :)

I studied Japanese in college, but unfortunately I can't speak it very well. I picked the name Hanako because I liked the meaning (flower child seemed to suit the picture) and also because the kanji didn't look too difficult :D

The snowman sampler is by JBW Designs (http://jbwdesigns.com/). It's called "Let It Snow." She's one of my favorite designers. Most of her designs are cute and pretty quick to do. I found this one at my local cross stitch shop, but most of her patters are available online too like at 123stitch.com (http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-bin/itemdetail.pl?item=04-2099).

I just ordered "Let It Snow." What a great site. That's the bonus of being part of a "community" - all you people in the know!
