Nothing much in particular to update on. Life is slothy as usual.

I need to stop buying/planning stitching projects. I went to the Local Needlework Store yesterday and bought the kit for Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy.

I'd seen it on the internet months ago and told myself I wouldn't buy it, but when actually faced with it at the store, I totally caved. I wasn't even that interested in doing another Mirabilia pattern initially either, but then they had to release their first Halloween design and since I love Halloween patterns, I was pretty much screwed. Also, I have about nine or so unfinished pieces that I could be working on. And *cough* countless other patterns that I've bought but haven't started on yet.

At least I will be well-occupied for the next fifty years.

Oh, that's adorable! I really need to finish my embroidered Marie-Antoinette cameo so I can move on to a new project. Is that a cross-stitch pattern? I've pretty much only been experimenting with satin stitch so far.

It is a cross stitch. There's some backstitching and beading, but basically very simple.

An embroidered Marie-Antoinette? That sounds fascinating, do you have photos?

Once I get a little more done I'll make some scans. I'm working from a design I drew freehand from a graphic by my musician friend Hannah. M-A is a recurring theme in her songs, and she uses this image for various merch, like t-shirts and jewelry:

This project is taking me forever for various reasons, the must frustrating of which being that I had the *brilliant* idea of using a piece of pink lamé for my base fabric, and if I don't place the needle just so the metallic fibers in the weave break >_< It's coming along though, hopefully I can share some pix soon!

That looks so pretty! And complicated too, I've never gotten the hang of freehand embroidery. I can't wait to see pix of your work ^_^

I'm sure you don't want to be encouraged, but that design is beautiful. ;)

I don't think I can resist it for very long either; I'll probably be starting it in a day or two. Oh, and I've been meaning to tell you, I think your new tattoo looks fantastic :)

I'll look forward to seeing it when you post the finished one. ;) Your excuse is that it is for Halloween. And thanks!!
