Moulin Rouge! is one of my favorite movies evar, thus I was very excited to buy this movie-inspired dress second-hand off the DoA boards. Score! Lurking for months finally paid off.

It is so dark in my house, these came out pretty dark. I did liberal amounts of photoshopping, but I should have taken pictures in daylight to really do the dress justice. It's very lovely. (I wish I could sew as well!)

Kind of. It's jointed, but it's made of resin (fancy type of plastic) instead of porcelein. Slightly more durable for when it falls off the table.

I just *love* these photos . . . such beautiful posing and creative accessorizing (all the little details are so nice -- the peacock feather, the awesome manicure, her wild curly hair . . . gorgeous!

It's funny, because I remember this dress on Miss Lily Pearl, and it was such a different atmosphere -- I loved those photos, and I love these in an entirely different way . . . you've brought out something very special in this girl of yours :)

I was very lucky to have found the dress secondhand. I'd seen it when Heather first posted pics of it and adored it at first sight. She's a wonderful seamstress, but she doesn't seem to take commissions very often, which is a shame.
