Oct. 18th, 2007 03:37 amI'm having a hard time feeling motivated to post or do much of anything really. Not much is going on in my life, except a whole lot of inertia. My desktop is finally working now, after waiting a week for the repair shop to correctly diagnose the problem. Most of which time I was walking around muttering, "Flames... flames on the side of my face..." It turned out the motherboard was shot and the hard drive needed to be replaced, but the shop owner was decent and only charged me for the parts and not labor since it took them so long. So now my 'puter's back home where it should be and I'm back to being addicted to the internets. I managed to save a lot of my files before the final crash, but my collection of icons (except for the dozen I've got on LJ) and most of my bookmarks are gone :(
Work continues to be a pain, but I looked at some job postings last night and was reluctantly forced to conclude that I have no viable job skills. Except for customer service. Please kill me.
I went and saw Elizabeth: The Golden Age this weekend. Such a pretty, pretty movie. The reviews, though, are pretty accurate. Gorgeous sets and costumes, great acting, but with a weak story. I was disappointed that they didn't have Cate Blanchett do the actual speech at Tilbury and instead wrote something new and LOTR-like. It just seemed odd that they would leave that out, since it's so well-known. There were a few other WTF moments, but on the whole, I enjoyed the movie so much, I didn't care. I knew from the first one that accuracy would not be among its strong points anyway. I can't wait till it comes out on dvd.
Also, they showed the trailer for Atonement before the movie, which made me kind of tear up because I had read the book recently. And because you can tell it's going to be a weepy kind of film anyway. Very much looking forward to that one.
Perhaps I will feel more active if I make a list of goals...
Post more. Or writing of any kind in general.
Work more on the Taj Mahal. I had stopped stitching on it for about three months :(
Try to finish up some of the small x-stitch projects I have
Spend less time looking at the DoA marketplace/Yahoo Japan auctions. Too late! XD
More time taking dolly photos.
Do some house cleaning, including selling off things I don't need/use anymore.
It's a bit too late to do any of those things right now (except for the first one!) so I think I'm just going to sleep on it for now and I'll get to the rest tomorrow. ^_^
