stinky cheese and books
Sep. 4th, 2009 12:31 amNow that my burfday is officially over, I can say that it was a pretty good day. After much thought (okay, not really), I decided I wanted to spend my birthday a)not at work no matter what and b)shopping for my two favorite things, books and cheese.
Mostly because I had just discovered on Tuesday night that there is a cheese shop in Norman. Yay! Why was I not informed earlier? All these years, and cheese was just 15 minutes away. Oh, and books, because Borders sent me a coupon.

LOOK, YOU GUYS,more blurry iPhone pictures CHEESE. Two cases of wonderful, imported cheese.
I bought some Ballerina goat gouda, Truffle Tremor, and Epoisses, a cheese reportedly so stinky it's not allowed on public transport in France.
I just tried the last two. The Truffle Tremor is okay, but it tastes REAL GOATY. I like the Epoisses the best though. It is stinkay. And runny. And it looks like it's sweating. It's kinda like a brie that you forgot and left in your shoe. Yeah, I still love it.
Other stuff: I bought Tasha Alexander's new mystery novel at Borders. My mom bought me dinner at La Baguette's (I just finished reading Julia Child's autobiography, so I wanted to eat French food. No blurry iPhone pics though.) And I found the $10 coupon to the local needlework shop that I thought was lost. Apparently, anything I lose can always be found on the floorboard under the passenger side seat of my car.
Mom is getting me the (considerable amount of)remaining silk threads I need for Chatelaine's Japanese Garden mandala. I can't wait to start another Big Ass Project. I miss stitching on the old one. Sort of.
And thank you to
lesbiassparrow for the melodrama picspam, featuring Hugh Jackman, the Emo Sailor. (He looks so young! And tormented!) It is lolarious.
I can still smell the cheese. D: Going to brush teef now, brb.
